Courses on Canadian Jewish Life

The Association for Canadian Jewish Studies invites you to dive into the dynamic world of Canadian Jewish history, culture, and society through courses designed for the curious non-specialist and taught by leading experts in the field.
We offer both introductory surveys and specialized "special topics" courses that explore the ways in which Jewish individuals and institutions, Jewish culture and social trends, and Jewish identities and political and religious behaviours have influenced, and been influenced by, the wider Canadian mosaic.
Winter/Spring 2027 Courses
The ACJS's online courses are offered live on Zoom for four (winter/spring) or six (autumn) weeks. All courses meet weekly for 1.5 hours each. Please note that some courses are offered exclusively in French.
Our courses are open to all learners and require no background knowledge of Canadian Jewish history. All course materials (Zoom link, course outline, optional reading materials, etc.) will be distributed to registered students two weeks prior to the first meeting.
